Ingredients:
Grass Fed/Finished Beef Tallow, Emu oil, Squalene Oil,
Arnica, Calendula*, Comfrey leaf/root*, Eucalyptus*, Plantain Leaves*, St. Johns Wort, Vanilla Bean, Magnesium Oil, MSM powder.*From my organic garden
Background:
The main ingredient in this cream is comfrey leaf and root, which have both been used for thousands of years in European traditional practices. It has large hairy leaves and bell-shaped blue flowers with roots that turn black when harvested. I grow these plants in my organic gardens.
Research support for the use of comfrey can be found:
https://consensus.app/search/are-there-any-clinical-trials-demonstrating-the-ef/wTdGo2CaTmC0_mMn9mgG0Q/. This review concludes: “Robust clinical trial evidence supports the efficacy and safety of comfrey root extract for topical use in treating pain and inflammation from musculoskeletal conditions. It is a well-tolerated and effective option for acute injuries and chronic joint complaints.”
It is important not to apply to broken skin and not to use this cream for more than 6 weeks. Poisonous chemicals in comfrey can pass through the skin.
